Education In Bradford (No. 2)
EDM number 573 in 1989-90, proposed by Max Madden on 19/02/1990.
That this House expresses deep concern at the reported decision of the Department of Education and Science to remove from the Bradford Local Management Scheme formula funding targetted to lessen social disadvantage; believes that if decision is upheld it would result in 33 first schools in Bradford losing about ú1.2 million involving the loss of more than 100 teaching posts; further believes it intolerable for such schools to each lose up to four teachers; and urges the Government to find a way of continuing to allocate resources to the 33 first schools listed in EDM 574: Education in Bradford (No.1).
This motion has been signed by a total of 18 MPs.
