Westminster Cemeteries And Wisland Investment Group Incorporated

That this House notes that Wisland Investment Group Incorporated unsuccessfully applied against a decision to disallow development of land attached to Mill Hill cemetery, one of three cemeteries sold by Westminster City Council for ú1; believes that the Secretary of State for the Environment, therefore, knows and is in a position to name the beneficial owners behind Wisland Investment Group Incorporated; calls upon him to disclose that information in the public interest; notes that the Metropolitan Police Fraud Squad have been investigating the circumstances of the sale for nearly two years, and that the Department of Public Prosecutions have accepted that a basis for further inquiries exists; and believes that any publication of the auditor's report, into allegations of wilful misconduct and unlawfulness by members of the Conservative ruling group is premature in the light of the continuing Fraud Squad inquiries.
