Prime Minister's Statement on State Security

That this House notes that when the Prime Minister made a statement on state security to the House on 6th May 1987 in relation to the Government led by the Right honourable and Noble Lord Wilson of Rievaulx between 1974 and 1976, she said that 'no evidence or indication had been found of any plot or conspiracy against Lord Wilson or by or within the security services', Official Report, 6th May 1987, column 726; notes that on page 12 of the prepared speech from which she was reading the words, 'or of any misuse of information obtained in the course of their investigations' appeared; further notes that the Prime Minister did not deliver this part of her speech; and calls on the Prime Minister to explain why.
