Promotion Of Tourism In South Africa By Network Southeast Magazine
EDM number 374 in 1989-90, proposed by Ronnie Fearn on 24/01/1990.
That this House views with dismay and concern the article in the first edition of Network Southeast London Tilbury and Southend magazine which effectively promotes tourism to South Africa in contravention of agreements reached by the British Government at the Commonwealth Summit in August 1986 and which uses terminology currently used by the apartheid South African Government which causes offence to the majority of black citizens; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to take whatever action is necessary to ensure that the 1986 agreements are honoured and that such an article is not repeated.
