Derbyshire County Council And Mr Reg Race

That this House notes the statement by the honourable Member for Newham North West in Standing Committee F on 11th January, that Mr Reg Race, the former Chief Executive of Derbyshire County Council and a former Member of this House, 'was sacked by Derbyshire County Council because he was giving it the sort of information about its activities that its members did not want to hear'; notes his endorsement of Mr Race as a 'very objective and honest person'; further notes his offer to the honourable Member for Derbyshire South to 'tell the honourable Lady more outside if she wishes me to'; and now invites him to do so, and to put on record for the whole House exactly what home truths about efficiency, integrity and the careful use of public money Mr Race imparted to Derbyshire Labour Party, and which led to their parting company after only nine months.
