Mr Martin Ritchie
EDM number 274 in 1989-90, proposed by Simon Hughes on 10/01/1990.
That this House thanks surveyor Martin Ritchie for his honesty in handing in the ú4 million worth of bearer bond certificates which he saw somebody drop in Throgmorton Street; commends his example of honesty to all working in the City of London and to all young Londoners; and urges the brokers Rowe and Pitman, whose bonds it was he found, to offer Mr Ritchie a reward slightly more appropriate to the amount of money he saved them, for example by offering the ú2,500 Mr Ritchie apparently needs to pay off his overdraft with his bank.
