Leeds And Hull Remand Wings

That this House expresses its deep concern at the suicides of five teenage boys in Leeds Prison, Armley, in 1988-89, at the poor conditions teenagers suffer in Leeds and in Hull prisons, and at the inappropriate use of prisons for young people on remand awaiting trial; and calls for urgent action to minimise the use of custodial remands and to bring about the closure of B wings in Leeds and in Hull.
