EDM number 181 in 1989-90, proposed by Charles Kennedy on 11/12/1989.
That this House congratulates the Liberal Democrats in East Sussex for conducting a survey of general practitioners in Eastbourne; notes that from a 69 per cent. return 94 per cent. of general practitioners believe patients will lose from the changes proposed in Working for Patients, 86 per cent. are against indicative drug budgets, 89 per cent. do not think there are enough resources available for preventive medicine, and 89 per cent. think that the Government's proposals will place restrictions on their ability to cater for patients with special needs; and therefore calls upon the Secretary of State for Health to drop the proposals in the National Health Service Review forthwith.
