Funding Of Small Theatre Productions

EDM number 176 in 1989-90, proposed by John Cummings on 08/12/1989.

That this House expresses its concern over the lack of funding for small independent production companies in the world of theatre; notes with pleasure the new play by Ray Mitchelle, Lead, produced by the Kowalski Institute at present playing in South London; applauds their initiative in bringing pleasure to theatre patrons whilst working under the most stringent financial straight jacket; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to make available the necessary funds for such productions.

This motion has been signed by a total of 23 MPs.
