British Manufactured Goods

EDM number 144 in 1989-90, proposed by Alan Meale on 05/12/1989.

That this House believes that in support of British industry the Government should instruct all retail companies in the UK, especially those dealing in products which have a British manufacturing base, to maintain a strict and detailed record of all purchased foreign goods for sale, including their country of origin, to publish these facts annually and to label all British goods with a common, easily identifiable logo for consumer recognition.
