Fish Processors And Transport Blockade On French Spanish Border

That this House notes the concern of the fishing industry in Scotland and Northern Ireland on the impact of the blockade of the French/Spanish border on the transport of perishable products; and calls on the Scottish Office, the Northern Ireland Office and the Foreign Office to make representations to the Spanish Government on the personal safety of lorry drivers and to establish a monitoring and information line for transport companies and fish processors providing up-to-date details, including the prospects for settlement of this dispute affecting an important market for Scottish and Northern Irish fish processors.
