EDM number 1413 in 1989-90, proposed by David Marshall on 16/10/1990.
That this House congratulates all concerned in the organisation of the above celebrations on 7th October which were watched by many thousands of people; pays tribute to the men and women responsible for its construction 100 years ago and its maintenance since; acknowledges it as the eighth wonder of the world and a testimony to Scotland; is delighted that it is now floodlit for all to see; and looks forward to trains continuing to use it for the next 100 years.
