Cancellation Of Thamesday

That this House deplores the decision of the South Bank Board to cancel Thamesday 1990 after so many years of enjoyment by Londoners of an annual event started by the Greater London Council; regrets the failure of the London Residuary Body to guarantee the future of the London Marathon; and sees in these connected decisions the handing over of public rights and facilities to private companies who have neither care nor consideration for the interests of London and her citizens.
