EDM number 1355 in 1989-90, proposed by Ron Brown on 25/07/1990.

That this House recognises that the Government led by President Najib represents peace and stability in Afghanistan; notes that progress has been achieved despite foreign intervention in support of reactionary forces; and calls on the British Government to acknowledge these facts by restoring full diplomatic relations with this important developing country without further delay.
