Poll Tax Rebates

EDM number 1348 in 1989-90, proposed by Dafydd Wigley on 24/07/1990.

That this House notes that poll tax payers are not entitled to receive a rebate which is worth under 50 pence per week; further notes that poll tax bills can be issued for periods as little as seven days; believes that everyone who is entitled to a rebate should be paid in full; further believes that the sum of 50 pence accumulated for six months or a year would be considered a substantial amount by a family under the poverty line; and calls on the Government and local authorities to refund poll tax rebates of under 50 pence per week on a monthly, six-monthly or annual basis.

This motion has been signed by a total of 7 MPs.
