Problems Arising From The Use Of Myodil

EDM number 1336 in 1989-90, proposed by Alun Michael on 24/07/1990.

That this House calls on the Secretary of State for Wales to recognise that his estimate of the number of people now seeking redress for the effects of the use of Myodil in treatment and diagnosis of back complaints falls short of the number of cases now identified in Wales; calls on him to investigate the 650-plus cases already known to be seeking legal advice in Wales; urges him to undertake a searching inquiry into the use of Myodil in Welsh hospitals, the extent to which guidance was observed, the speed with which hospitals responded to requests to cease the use of Myodil and the real extent to which patients may be experiencing problems; and further calls on him to issue a detailed note of advice and guidance for those who think they may be involved.

This motion has been signed by a total of 13 MPs.
