Republic Of Maldives Celebration Of 25 Years Of Independence

That this House congratulates the Republic of the Maldives on celebrating 25 years of independence on 26th July; welcomes her active membership of the Commonwealth; notes with interest and encouragement the dynamic role the Maldives are playing at the United Nations to highlight the problems of small independent nations; and looks to continuing friendship between the United Kingdom and the Maldives and wishes the country every success in the future.
