Conduct Of Certain Hon. Members

EDM number 128 in 1989-90, proposed by Michael Stern on 01/12/1989.

That this House deplores the conduct of certain honourable Members in accepting invitations to be briefed on matters of current concern by outside organisations and then neither turning up for the briefing nor sending an apology; deplores the discourtesy of the honourable Members for Manchester, Withington, Newcastle upon Tyne Central, Glasgow, Pollok, Crewe and Nantwich, Ashfield, Eccles, Makerfield, and Preston in accepting an invitation to a half-day briefing and lunch by the Royal College of Surgeons on Wednesday 29th November and then failing to appear or to be heard from; and notes the contrast between the professed concern of Labour honourable Members for the National Health Service and their interest in hearing the facts.

This motion has been signed by a total of 7 MPs, 2 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
