Deployment Of New Nuclear Missiles
EDM number 1226 in 1989-90, proposed by Dennis Turner on 04/07/1990.
That this House totally rejects the proposal to deploy 389 new nuclear missiles in seven North Atlantic Treaty Organisation countries, including Britain, by the end of 1991 and the continuing policy of weapon modernisation which preserves a cold-war mentality which is completely inappropriate following the amazing changes in Eastern Europe which have drastically weakened the Warsaw Pact; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to show faith in the new peace processes and veto the plan at the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation's summit meeting on 5th-6th July.
This motion has been signed by a total of 36 MPs.
