Treatment Of Tranmere Rovers
EDM number 1218 in 1989-90, proposed by Frank Field on 03/07/1990.
That this House condemns the treatment of Tranmere Rovers Football Club who, after securing a deserved promotion to the Second Division, were then relegated back to the Third Division after the demotion of Swindon Town was revoked; and calls on the governing bodies of football to unite so that they might in future speak with one voice and so prevent opportunities for stitching up decisions behind the scenes which favour the wealthier clubs.
This motion has been signed by a total of 5 MPs.
