Tobacco Taxation And Inflation;amdt. Line 2:

EDM number 109A1 in 1989-90, proposed by Roger Sims on 06/12/1989.

Leave out from 'inflation' to end and add 'and reduce public spending as a proportion of gross domestic product; and therefore urges Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer to increase significantly the taxation on tobacco products in order to reduce vast sums of unnecessary expenditure on the National Health Service, thereby reducing domestic demand and the level of inflation.'.
