Contras In Nicaragua

EDM number 1085 in 1989-90, proposed by Jeremy Corbyn on 07/06/1990.

That this House notes with growing concern that the Contras have not yet fully demobilised in Nicaragua, in spite of a series of agreements to do so, most recently in a signed agreement with the Nicaraguan Government on 30th May; and therefore calls on Her Majesty's Government to urge the Government of the United States of America to use its influence with the Contras to effect their immediate demobilisation, in line with the request of the United Nations Security Council of 23rd May.
