Rothmans And Teenage Smoking

EDM number 1048 in 1989-90, proposed by Sylvia Heal on 23/05/1990.

That this House expresses its alarm at the actions of Rothmans in sending unsolicited promotional materials to a 16-year-old boy; notes with despair the increase in teenage smoking which will lead to innumerable health problems in future years; and calls upon Rothmans to stop exploiting the vulnerability of young people in this way.
