Housing Corporation And The Public Accounts Committee

That this House notes with concern the serious financial problems affecting the Housing Corporation and the impact this will have on housing association building and repair; further notes that the Public Accounts Committee were unaware of these problems when they examined the Housing Corporation in December 1989 or that the government expenditure plans for 1991, 1992 and 1993 published on 30th January in Command 1008, Chapter 8 of the Department of Environment paper with particular reference to table 8.5 dealing with housing associations units approved and completed would prove to be incorrect; and in view of the impact this will have on the rental sector calls upon the Public Accounts Committee to recall the Housing Corporation before the Committee.
