Exchange & Mart, Portsmouth Family Concern, And Adult Interest Advertising

EDM number 1011 in 1989-90, proposed by Terry Lewis on 16/05/1990.

That this House welcomes the decision of United Newspapers plc to discontinue, from the end of May, the advertising of 'Adult Interest' items in 'Exchange and Mart'; notes with satisfaction that these include advertisements for telephone information services which have caused grave public offence; hopes that this move will soon be copied by other publishers including national newspapers; and recognises the part played by the Portsmouth Area Family Concern in achieving this policy decision.

This motion has been signed by a total of 17 MPs.
