Youth Services

EDM number 1563 in 2017-19, proposed by Lloyd Russell-Moyle on 04/09/2018.
Categorised under the topics of Children and families and Voluntary organisations.

That this House acknowledges the importance of youth services as a vital component of lifelong learning and civil society; notes that youth work provides many opportunities to support and extend the formal education curriculum, raises self esteem, promotes the development of communication skills and helps young people explore boundaries between reasonable and risky behaviours; recognises that youth services have been cut more severely than any other public service; and calls for a new national legislative and political commitment to creating a quality universal service for young people aged 13-21.

This motion has been signed by a total of 18 MPs.
