That this House notes the Office for National Statistics report, Deaths related to volatile substances and helium in Great Britain: 2001 to 2016 registrations, which highlights that deaths from solvent abuse has risen; further notes that volatile substance abuse deaths was most common in those aged 20 to 39 years between 2001 and 2016; expresses concern that North East England and Scotland have some of the highest mortality rates in England, Wales and Scotland; notes that the largest causes of deaths were butane, propane and lighter fuel; calls on the Government to take action on the rise in deaths by working closely with voluntary organisations, local authorities and government agencies; and calls on the Government to investigate reasons behind the rise in deaths and report to Parliament.
